Katie has been working at Healthy Diets Inc. Since 2010 and has worked in the general nutrition field for over seven years. She is responsible for providing medical nutrition therapy to those with extensive disease states such as renal disease, diabetes, and heart disease.
Before Healthy Diets, Inc., Katie worked for Expanded Food and the Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) at North Carolina State University, piloting its new curriculum for WIC and EFNEP participants.
Katie grew up in the quaint but charming town of New Hill, NC. She graduated from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with a BS in public health. Katie says her blood runs both Wolfpack red and Carolina blue, being raised a diehard N.C. State fan but receiving her degree from UNC.
She also received Gluten-Free Resource Education and Awareness Training through the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness.
Katie likes to spend as much of her spare time as she can outdoors, whether it be walking or running with her dog, Bailey, or fine-tuning her green thumb in the yard. She enjoys growing herbs and vegetables, as well as cooking healthy recipes.
